Our Mission

The Bard High School Early College Library Media Center in Newark is committed to fostering a lifelong love of learning, reading, and curiosity in all students. Serving as an integral-supporting component of the total educational program, the Library Media Center functions as a learning laboratory where students and staff can work intensively and productively with ideas. We provide a dynamic and inclusive environment that supports academic achievement, personal growth, and critical thinking. The library media specialist is available to support students with research, online databases, locating books, and much more, empowering them to engage with knowledge, develop information literacy skills, and become responsible global citizens prepared for college and beyond.
